Nanning College of Digital Technology has stood at the forefront of big-data and AI applications. Through talent training, scientific research, and industry incubation in related disciplines, it has become a new benchmark among China’s private universities. Sugon recently won a contract at Nanning College of Digital Technology to take part in building the college’s key data laboratory, providing AI data services and storage resources to support scientific and technological innovation.

Sugon uses ParaStor distributed unified storage to meet the laboratory’s need to process massive data, strongly supporting research in high-intensity computing, image processing, big data, and artificial intelligence.

ParaStor supports online expansion to 4,096 nodes and true exabyte-scale storage, matching the laboratory’s rapid data growth and its scalability requirements. A single storage node can provide file, block, object, and HDFS services at the same time. A three-node cluster can carry unstructured and structured workloads, eliminating device diversity and management complexity, supporting fused management of massive heterogeneous data, and meeting big-data, cloud, and AI application needs.

ParaStor also provides a native HDFS interface with no protocol overhead, connecting seamlessly to big-data platforms. Storage and compute can be provisioned on demand, old and new storage can be read and written together, applications need zero modification, and data needs zero migration—building a more cost-effective storage–compute separation solution for big data.

Sugon has also gone deep in education in other ways, including Sugon cloud desktops and cloud-drive systems, using modern information technology to move traditional IT toward an intensive model and helping many schools into Education Informatization 2.0. Sugon products are already in successful use at Chongqing Jiaotong University, China University of Geosciences, Shenzhen University, Central South University, Chongqing Technology and Business University, and other schools, and are well received by schools and students.
