Project Requirements
The project covers unified implementation at 10 provincial grain reserve depots and 7 affiliated sub-depots, together with construction of a grain-reserve data center. Combining the actual conditions of reserve depots at all levels, national technical specifications for grain-industry informatization, and the provincial grain bureau’s requirements, the design meets the needs of depot units, administrative supervision, and operations control, with high reliability, high availability, security, flexibility, and scalability. The overall architecture is based on cloud computing and other next-generation information technologies, comprehensively using the internet, mobile internet, IoT, and wired and wireless communications to support grain inbound/outbound operations, warehousing, business management, and office automation. Through integrated systems, depot management is automated and warehousing operations are made intelligent. Per provincial grain bureau document No. 137, after this upgrade the depot infrastructure and intelligent systems must meet the National Grain Administration requirements of “advanced technology, practical functions, simple operation, security and reliability, unified standards, interconnection, and efficient operation,” and interconnect with the provincial platform and the provincial reserve-management data center according to the specified technical protocols and data specifications.
Solution Design
The provincial grain-reserve data center is a management and virtualization resource-management platform for the reserve data center. It builds a secure, stable, and efficient EDC, lowers IT investment and O&M cost, and provides elastic, scalable resources for grain business applications and development. The provincial reserve data-center equipment room hosts the information center’s critical services. Reliable equipment-room infrastructure is required so that IT systems run efficiently, stably, and reliably. Starting from actual project needs and aiming at a highly standardized room, the design strictly follows “reasonable investment, unified planning, based on the present, moderately ahead,” delivering a fully optimized integrated solution.

Sugon won the provincial grain-reserve data-center project. Scope included data-center infrastructure and cloud-platform construction. At the provincial reserve data center, five I620-G20 servers were deployed as cloud-platform hosts and two I840-G25 servers as database hosts. Two DS800-G35H arrays form active-active storage so that failure of either array does not affect upper-layer applications. A DS800-G35 is deployed at a remote site as remote disaster-recovery storage. Each of the two data centers also deploys one DBStor100-U backup appliance as the data-backup system for databases, critical documents, images, and operating-system data.
Solution Value
To meet the need for a warehousing informatization management platform in intelligent grain depots, advanced IT is combined with modern grain-storage industry requirements to build an all-round, integrated intelligent grain-storage system, providing a foundation for the provincial grain informatization management platform. Construction of the provincial reserve management company’s data center improves efficiency of provincial reserve-grain management and raises warehouse-management standards at provincial reserve depots.
