Harbin Yuanshen Radio and Television Network Co., Ltd. is the only regional cable-TV access-network service provider in Harbin. After 17 years of construction and development, the Harbin cable-TV network has been fully upgraded into a large-capacity, high-bandwidth, multi-function radio and television broadband information network. It can provide three-network-convergence services, including analog TV, digital TV, two-way digital TV, VPN (virtual private network) data services, networking services, and group voice services.

Harbin Yuanshen manages the broadcasting network in Harbin and is responsible for transmitting cable-TV signals across the city. It is focused on building a three-screen, HD, stereoscopic digital-TV interactive platform, a digital-city platform, an urban IoT application platform, and a three-network-convergence new-business platform.

This project is phase one of the broadcaster’s cloud-computing platform, used for internal broadcasting business and as a government cloud providing external cloud services. Sugon stood out among many competitors and won the project with strong product features, a complete solution, and rich cloud-computing operations experience. The platform combines a cloud-computing platform, Classified Protection Level 3 security, and the first successful Cloudview deployment by Sugon in the broadcasting industry.

The configuration uses 12 four-socket servers, 2 virtual disk arrays (32 TB of storage), and the Sugon Cloudview cloud-computing platform management system to build a Sugon cloud-computing center. The overall topology is shown below:

By building the cloud platform, the project resolved long-standing issues of scattered systems, long construction cycles, and low resource utilization, enabling rapid system deployment, on-demand resource allocation, and smooth resource-pool expansion. Sugon Cloudview successfully provided unified management of the IT resource pool.
