Background

The CAS Class-A Strategic Priority Research Program “Big Earth Data Science Engineering” was formally approved on 1 January 2018, with a five-year implementation period. The program pools strengths from multiple CAS institutes to build a big-data cloud service platform covering resources, environment, biology, ecology, and other fields, advancing Earth big-data technology innovation, major scientific discoveries, and one-stop, all-round macro decision support. The goal is to establish an internationally influential, open International Earth Big Data Science Center in Beijing Huairou Science City.

Sugon Solution

Based on Huairou’s geography and the project’s requirements, Sugon proposed a ranked-cabinet air-conditioning solution with internal-circulation cooling, completing a modern equipment-room infrastructure of 25 usable cabinets in a single build. The Sugon C1000 ranked-cabinet data center performed outstandingly on this project.

The C1000 fluorocarbon-cooled integrated cabinet facility draws on years of experience from national large-scale HPC system centers. It is independently developed and manufactured by Sugon, combining introduced technology with in-house innovation. Sugon provides original-factory production and after-sales service in China. Compared with imported integrated cabinet products, it offers a clear price advantage and high cost-effectiveness, with a one-month delivery cycle—about two-thirds shorter than the customs-clearance lead time of imported brands.

The Sugon C1000 ranked-cabinet equipment-room infrastructure uses a fully enclosed cabinet design, modularization, and other advanced technologies. All units are factory-prefabricated and assembled on site, so data-center construction is no longer cumbersome. Rapid deployment, flexible expansion, and low energy use help shorten the build cycle, cut energy consumption, and optimize cost.
