Expressway Video Surveillance Storage Solution

Multi-level networked storage designed for expressway operations and safety video systems.

Elastic Expansion

Super horizontal scalability: expand smoothly as business data grows, online to 4,096 nodes, with single-node expansion in 1 minute, and data rebalanced evenly in the cluster by load-balancing policy.

Outstanding Performance

End-to-end NVMe design delivers up to 100 million IOPS and latency as low as tens of microseconds. A single cluster supports up to 256 controllers.

Reliable Data

Fully redundant architecture with industry-leading data-protection mechanisms; advanced data-redundancy technology maintains high space utilization while supporting simultaneous failure of any four storage nodes without affecting business access.

Solution Architecture

The expressway monitoring and management system realizes networked image interconnection based on a TCP/IP architecture and can conveniently upgrade and expand smoothly. The system mainly includes a front-end information-collection part and a back-end centralized-management part; the front-end collection area consists of highway-segment, service-area, and toll-station zones; the back-end management part has the segment monitoring-management center and the provincial expressway administration. The system uses a hierarchical video-surveillance architecture and flexibly deploys cloud storage at the segment monitoring center and provincial administration for centralized storage and access of video images.

The segment monitoring center is the core of the whole management system; it collects overall information of the expressway segment and performs corresponding dispatch. The monitoring center has a video wall and can manage huge volumes of front-end collected video through rich display methods, and apply rich linkage policies to numerous third-party front-end collection devices, using rich yet simple policies for centralized management and command of massive data, keeping the whole highway system in step and substantially reducing management staff, meeting low-cost, high-efficiency management needs.

The provincial expressway administration is a higher-level management body than the segment monitoring center, responsible for unified management of all expressways in the jurisdiction; it only handles information that segment management chooses to upload, facilitating unified deployment of jurisdiction segments.
